Residential Air Conditioning: Daikin Split Type Air Conditioners, Inverters And Air Purifiers

A summer breeze is always enjoyable, but on days when the climate is humid and still, it is time for a blast of cold air. Residential air conditioning makes a home comfortable when the temperature reaches unbearable heights. There are several types of residential air conditioning systems a homeowner can choose from, one being the split type air conditioner design.

There are single and portable residential air conditioning units available that provide cooling, but many homeowners opt for the residential air conditioning called a split type air conditioner.

Named because the system is divided into inside and outside components, split type air conditioners have the compressor located outside the home. Meanwhile, the usually small, indoor residential air conditioning unit can be placed somewhere without taking up too much space. Since the compressor is outside, homeowners will not be bothered by the noise as they would with a window air conditioner.

Another type of residential air conditioning system utilizes an inverter in the compressor's motor system. Inverters are appropriate for homeowners who live in hot climates and will use residential air conditioning throughout the year, not just the summer months. Inverters are generally more expensive than other systems of residential air conditioning, and have lower ratings for performance when used at full load capacity. However, it is important to note households typically use residential air conditioning systems at partial load capacity, and with that in mind, inverter systems are operationally efficient. Inverters adjust their capacity based on the size of the room it is cooling, whereas a non-inverter unit starts working at full blast, which wastes energy. Residential air conditioning systems fitted with inverters have one-third less starting time than non-inverter systems, making it a not only efficient but fast cooling solution.

Air purifiers also make the home a more livable place. However rather than cooling the room as a residential air conditioning unit does, air purifiers trap allergens in their filters. This allows homeowners with allergies to be more comfortable and breathe better. Customers should be aware air purifiers are not a substitute for dusting; in fact, it is imperative homeowners dust their furniture weekly so the dust particles can go from resting to airborne. It is when particles are in the air that they can be trapped in an air purifier's filter. In addition to dust particles, air purifiers will make a room more breathable by eliminating pet dander, pollen and cigarette smoke.

Daikin was the company to introduce split type air conditioners to Japan at the end of the 1960s, and although they pioneered that system in the land of the rising sun, Daikin sells other types of residential air conditioning worldwide. In Daikin's catalog, inverters and split type air conditioners are not mutually exclusive. Split type air conditioners can have an inverter built-in outside the house, since that is where the compressor is located. Daikin's catalog boasts an array of various home cooling solutions, such as the Super Multi NX. With an efficient DC inverter that increases the small load capacity rating, this Daikin model can combine one outdoor unit with up to four indoor ones, resulting in less energy being used.

Residential air conditioning not only makes a home cooler during uncomfortable hot months, but products such as air filters make the home a more healthy place to live. If an interested customer lives in a perpetually hot climate, they would be advised to go with a residential air conditioning system fitted with an inverter. Otherwise, a typical split type air conditioner from a home appliance company such as Daikin would work fine.
